Why this route needs a visa

The Philippines is not listed on Immigration New Zealand's current visa waiver countries page. Based on that official list, Philippine ordinary passport holders should apply for a Visitor Visa before travel.

What the Visitor Visa covers

The Visitor Visa lets approved travelers holiday, visit family or friends, and study for up to 3 months. It does not allow ordinary employment in New Zealand.

Before departure

Prepare proof of onward travel, enough money for the stay, and a passport valid for at least 3 months after the date you plan to leave New Zealand. You must also complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration before travel.
